Florida Governor Scott Announces Grant Supporting NMSI’s CRP for Military Families

Yesterday, Florida Governor Rick Scott announced additional support for the National Math Science Initiative (NMSI) in Bay and Clay Counties through the Florida Defense Support Task Force Grant Program to help improve student performance for military children. This grant leverages over $10 million already provided for Florida’s military children across the state and works in conjunction with existing Department of Education programs to further support the children of our nation’s military members. 450 Teachers Head Back to the Classroom for Training in Baton Rouge

NMSI CEO Matthew Randazzo on the Civil Rights Data Collection Survey Results

Yesterday, the U.S. Education Department released its 2013-2014 Civil Rights Data Collection survey results, covering more than 95,000 schools and 50 million students. Among the results: Black and Latino students make up 38 percent of those enrolled at schools that offer AP courses — but less than a third of students taking AP courses.
