Tracy Epp, Ed.D.

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Tracy leads NMSI's internal operations, overseeing the academic, finance, IT and human capital teams with an overall focus on program strategy and organizational strength.
“We are a go-to partner for school systems across the country to transform the opportunities for students and open doors for them to pursue STEM careers. That status is only growing, and it’s a role that is truly satisfying – both at an organizational and personal level.”
Tracy joined NMSI in August 2016. Previously, she was a principal at Education First Consulting, where she worked to improve and expand the organization’s impact. Tracy was both a regional superintendent and the Chief Academic Officer at Achievement First Public Charter Schools, and founding Chief Academic Officer for IDEA Public Schools, where she saw the impact of NMSI programs first-hand.
She also served as program director for Teach For America-Rio Grande Valley, and co-authored the original charter for the IDEA Academy (now IDEA Public Schools) before joining the team that lead its flagship high school – IDEA College Preparatory in Donna, Texas.
Tracy holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Austin, a master’s degree from The University of Texas-Pan American and dual bachelor’s degrees in political science and history from Case Western Reserve University, where she was named the 2015 Distinguished Alumni in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is also a Pahara Fellow, Cohort IV, of the Aspen Institute.
